<runner> is an optional formatting element used to provide a header/footer/watermark which will display on each page of a finding aid. It can be used within <archdesc> or <archdescgrp> but must appear before <did>. If a transparent watermark as a background image is desired, use <extptr> instead.
Attributes
- ALTRENDER – not required. Use if the content of the element should be displayed or printed differently than the rendering established in a style sheet for other occurrences of the element.
- AUDIENCE – not required. Use to set whether the element’s contents will be visible to external users or to internal ones. Possible values are: “internal” and “external.”
- ID – not required. Creates an ID for element. Can be used for linking.
- PLACEMENT – not required. Must be “header,” “footer,” or “watermark.”
- ROLE – not required. Role may be used to specify the role of the entity being named in the runner.
Subelements
<runner> probably will contain PCDATA and may contain <emph>, <extptr>, <lb />, and <ptr>.
