<eventdatetime> Event Date and Time

<eventdatetime> is a new element in EAD3 and a required child element of <maintenanceevent>. It records the date and time of specific maintenance events of the EAD instance.

Attributes

  • @altrender – not required. Use if the content of the element should be displayed or printed differently than the rendering established in a style sheet for other occurrences of the element.
  • @audience – not required. Use to set whether the element’s contents will be visible to external users or to internal ones. Possible values are: “internal” and “external.”
  • @id – not required. Creates an ID for element. Can be used for linking.
  • @lang – not required. Three-letter code that indicates the language in which the element’s contents were written. It should come from ISO 639-2b.
  • @script – not required. Four-letter code that indicates the script in which the element’s contents were written. It should come from ISO 15924.
  • @standarddatetimestrongly suggested. Use the attribute to define an ISO 8601 standard-compliant form of the date and time of the maintenance event, i.e. YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS-5:00 for Eastern Time (a negative 5 hour offset from UTC, use Z to indicate UTC). <eventdatetime> may contain text, but it can also be used as an empty element, as the important information is in @standarddatetime.

<eventdatetime> is preceded by the required <eventtype> and followed by the required <agenttype>.
